A Litany: Jesus said ‘I am’ Lord Jesus Christ, you said that you are the door: by your grace, help us to welcome others into your kingdom. Lord Jesus Christ, you said that you are the way: by your grace, help us to encourage others to follow you. Lord Jesus Christ, you said that you are the truth: by your grace, help us to embody your word of love for all the world. Lord Jesus Christ, you said that you are the life: by your grace, help us to live your life so that others might come to live it in all its fullness. Lord Jesus Christ, you said that you are the true vine and that we are the branches: by your grace, help us to cling to you and to support one another in fruitfulness and service. In your name we pray, Amen.
Responsive Prayer of Dedication based on Romans 12.1-17 (Based on the NRSV translation, this prayer may be said individually, collectively, or responsively, as printed below.) Holy God, we present our bodies to you as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable, our spiritual worship. Strengthen us today, that we might not be conformed to this world, but transformed by the renewing of our minds, that we may discern your will - what is good and acceptable and perfect. Help us Lord, make our love genuine; hating evil and holding fast to what is good. By your Spirit, open our hearts to the risen Lord Jesus, that we might bless those who persecute us, rejoice with those who rejoice and mourn with those who mourn. Do not let us repay anyone evil for evil, but make us instruments of the peace of Christ, in whose name we pray. Amen.
